American Idol Top 8 Men

Man, I don't know what to say about this group of guys except that they are really disappointing this year.

There are only a couple that I think truly deserve to be in the Top 8.

Blake
I like Blake. Being as I live about 20 minutes from him, I have to cheer him on. Luckily he has proven to be probably the most unique of all the men this year. He has his own style, and his beatbox is funky cool. He's done a great job of dressing the way he should in order to portray who he is and reflect his personal flair. He is not the best singer in the competition by any means, but his integrity will take him far.

Phil
Yawn.

I used to like Phil. He just doesn't do it for me anymore. It sounds like I am describing a soon-to-be ex boyfriend..if that were the case I would tell him
to pack his bags. Phil is a good singer when he really belts it. Otherwise his voice just isn't anything spectacular. So Phil needs to start choosing powerful songs or else he is going to be gone soon. In my opinion he will be lucky if he is back next week.

Brandon
I actually thought Brandon did alright last night. Certainly better than last week. I loved his song choice. I mean, who doesn't love 'I Just Want to Celebrate' by Rare Earth? I thought it was fun and upbeat. The audience seemed to like it as well.
Once again though, he isn't the best singer in this competition and I don't think he is coming across as being unique in any way. So I think this may have been Brandon's last week. Sorry, B.

Chris R
What a doll. Okay, besides his JT-like characteristics he is one damn good singer. He is no doubt THE best male singer at this year's Idol. This guys is the complete package. He's nice to look at, you can feel his identity and his genre. I expect he makes the Top 3 and could possibly be this years American Idol.

Sundance Head
Can someone tell me how this guy made it this far? It had to be the name. And as for Randy and Paula loving him this week- I was floored! I thought he was awful and he screamed through the entire song. He would be much better suited for something more bluesy, smoky and mellow. I hope he is gone this week. Besides, his crying like a baby was a bit much.

Sanjaya
Liked him in the preliminary rounds, now he just reminds me of a young Michael Jackson. The voice at least. He is darling and I am sure the young girls are loving his chiclet smile and are voting for him just because 'He's so cute!' He needs to go though. He is not good enough to be there anymore.
Oh, and I actually liked the hair last night.

Jared
Gorgeous. When he sings he's got the moves and the charm. I preferred his Marvin Gaye performance last week over this weeks. He needs a bit more work on his voice, but I think his personality will make up for that..to a point. I'll say he is better than most of the men this year, but there's no way he will be this years American Idol.

Chris S
How can you not like Chris? He is a great singer but I think he can do better. I haven't been too crazy about any of his song choices. I think we have yet to see Chris really shine. Second best male singer in the competition, next to Chris R. No chance he will be voted off this week.

Let's hope the women give us more tonight than the guys did last night.
