Casting The Anna Nicole Smith Story
From the baby daddy battle to the mysterious corpse photos, the drama that's followed Anna Nicole Smith's death has "Movie of the Week" written all over it.
With Smith's pink rhinestone-studded, feather-covered casket now mercifully interred, Radar invited big-deal casting agents from both coasts (both of whom requested anonymity) to share their thoughts on the ideal actors to play Anna, Howard K., Larry B., Weepy Judge, and more.
After the jump, it's The Anna Nicole Smith Story, starring ...
... as Anna Nicole Smith
BIG-DEAL L.A. CASTING AGENT: "If I had to cast a name, it would be Jenny McCarthy because she has the look and over-the-top personality. But I wouldn't cast a well-known actress. I'd cast a brave theater actress who's built like herlike whoever was the lead in the last Gypsy."
BIG-DEAL NYC CASTING AGENT: "Alicia Silverstone would be my first choice. But Elizabeth Berkeley from Showgirls would work."
... as Dannielynn Smith
L.A.: "It depends on who raises her. If she lives with Larry Birkhead, Mary-Kate Olsen (as a grown-up Dannielynn). If she gets in the hands of a good foster family and she's raised in any sort of normal way, who knows, maybe Erikka Christensen? But if the grandma raises her, then she's just in trouble."
NYC: No comment.
... as Howard K. Stern
L.A.: "The other Howard Stern cleaned up and playing it dead serious. Just genius. He would totally do it, too."
NYC: "I would definitely call in Joey Buttafuoco to audition for the part."
... as Larry Birkhead
L.A.: "Whichever blond ABC soap star has the highest rating for that week. He has that beautiful daytime look about him."
NYC: "I can't remember if it's Siegfried or Roy, but whichever one didn't get mauled really looks a lot like Birkhead."
... as Virgie Arthur
L.A.: "British actress Brenda Blethyn [Secrets & Lies]. Just to change it up and put a really serious actor in the mix."
NYC: "Danny Devito in drag."
... as Weepy Judge Larry Seidlin
L.A.: "Either Jeffrey Tambor or Paul Giamatti. They're both super talented and super funny. The judge was such an outrageous character. Love him or hate him, he was out-of-his-mind eccentric. Those guys have great comic timing and very eccentric minds."
NYC: "It's a little-known fact, but Dan Castellaneta, voice of Homer and a bunch of others on The Simpsons, looks just like the judge."
