Keith Richards Now Denying That He Snorted His Fathers Ashes

As I reported yesterday, Keith Richards said in an interview with NME that he mixed some of his late fathers ashes with cocaine and then snorted it.


Now Richards is denying the comment saying that he was joking.

"He has said he was joking," a spokeswoman for Richards said. She had no further comment about why Richards made the statement.

A spokeswoman at NME when the remarks were first reported, said that the story was genuine and the comments were not a late April Fool's joke.

Keith Richards Will Snort Anything

Keith Richards told NME, a British music magazine, that he once snorted the remains of his own father Bert, of course mixed with a bit of cocaine to wash him down with.

"He was cremated and I couldn't resist grinding him up with a little bit of blow. My dad wouldn't have cared.. It went down pretty well, and I'm still alive," says Keith.

Bert died in 2002, at the age of 84.

He may be in one of the greatest bands ever but Richards is just an old junkie who got lucky a long time ago.
